Daytime Bridge Closure scheduled for KY 122 Collins Hwy in Pike County for Load Testing
Crews will close the bridge from 9am to 3pm Thursday, May 23
PIKEVILLE, Ky.(May 22, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a daytime bridge closure along KY 122 in Pike County for load testing. The bridge is located on Collins Hwy at mile point 13.5 (13.5 miles Sout of US 23).
Work will occur on Thursday, May 23, from 9 am to 3 pm. During this time, crews will install gauges on the bridge's underside and park loaded trucks along the bridge. This process allows crews to get an accurate load rating for the bridge. Due to the equipment and narrow width, the bridge must be closed during this time to conduct the rating.
Motorists must use an alternate route during working hours and expect delays while equipment is mobilized to and from the site. Please slow down and watch for signage and crew in the work zone.
