Two Resurfacing Projects in Boone County Now Underway
Resurfacing of KY 16 (Glencoe-Verona Road) and KY 1925 (Big Bone Road)
COVINGTON, Ky. (May 2, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of two resurfacing projects that are now in progress in Boone County.
The first project is on KY 16 (Glencoe-Verona Road) from the Gallatin County Line (0.0 mile point) to KY 14/194 (2.4 mile point), a distance of 2.48 miles of resurfacing.
The second project is on KY 1925 (Big Bone Road) from Rice Pike (3.1 mile point) to KY 536 (5.0 mile point), a distance of 1.83 miles of resurfacing.
Base failure repairs were addressed last week. Weather permitting, milling on KY 16 will begin on Monday, May 6, with paving to follow. Milling on KY 1925 will begin on Monday, May 13, with paving to follow.
The contractor will primarily work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect single lane closures during these daytime working hours. Flaggers will be in place to guide traffic safely through the work zone.
The resurfacing project is part of a $435,665 project awarded to Eaton Asphalt Paving Co, Inc. of Walton, KY. Weather permitting, this project is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2024.
