Traffic Pattern Changes on US 23 at Betsy Layne High School in Floyd County

Crews will begin Monday, Apr. 15, on Betsy Layne High School Entrance Project

FLOYD COUNTY (Apr. 15, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises the public of traffic pattern changes along US 23, East Main Street, and Bobcat Blvd. as crews begin an improvement project next week at the entrance to Betsy Layne High School. The job site is located at MP 3.1 at the intersection of US 23 and Bobcat Blvd.

Beginning Monday, Apr. 15, at 7 a.m., work will start on a new connector road, connecting US 23 to East Main Street. This project will eliminate the current entrance and improve safety and traffic at the high school. The project has a completion date of late August.

Motorists can expect work along the shoulder this week and delays as crews mobilize and set up equipment

The project will be completed in phases, with changes to traffic occurring in each phase. Motorists will need to pay close attention to signage and traffic control in the area.

Work is subject to weather conditions.
