Maintenance Operations Will Begin Monday, April 1 on U.S. 421 in Jackson County
MANCHESTER, Ky. (March 25, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that maintenance operations will take place on U.S. 421 (mile points 21.445 – 29.574) in Jackson County beginning Monday, April 1.
The project is to improve safety and correct issues along U.S. 421, including: Tree trimming and removal, pipe cleaning, pipe replacement, safety headwall installation, pavement repairs, guardrail replacement, and stripe replacement.
The work is scheduled to start Monday, April 1, and is expected to be complete by Saturday, November 30. Traffic should expect delays in this area with one-lane road closures. These will be handled by flagging operations or mobile traffic signals.
KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect significant delays, reduced speed, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
