Project includes improvements to pavement
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2024) – A roadway rehabilitation project has been awarded for a 4-mile stretch of Interstate 71 in Oldham County. This project will extend the life of the interstate and improve driver comfort on the roadway.
The I-71 rehabilitation project includes the milling and removal of the existing asphalt pavement with the replacement of new asphalt pavement. Other improvements to the 4-mile corridor include bridge repairs, subgrade repairs, and guardrail repairs/installations.
Preliminary work on the project will begin Friday, March 1, at 6 a.m., between mile marker 18 (near KY 393) and mile marker 22 (near South First Avenue) with bridge joint replacements and subgrade repairs.

Louisville Paving, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., was awarded the $9,096,999 million contract with the project completion date anticipated for the fall of 2024.
