Update - Interstate widening project in
Fayette County
I 64/I 75 between the Newtown Pike and Paris Pike Interchanges
LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 18, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update. Work continues for the interstate project in Lexington.
The location for the I 64/I 75 widening is between the Newtown Pike and Paris Pike Interchanges. The area is an approximate 2.5 mile section where the two interstates are combined. The anticipated completion date is November 1, 2024.
Interstate 64/Interstate 75
The barrier wall along I 64/I 75 Southbound will be shifted --- the following changes will be in effect:
Sunday, August 20 through Monday, August 21 – 6:30 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday
- a single lane closure will be in place between milepoints 114.5 and 112.5
Sunday, August 20 through Monday, August 21 – 7 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday
- the Newtown Pike/KY 922 On Ramp (Exit 115) to I 64/I 75 Southbound will be closed
- motorists can utilize Exit 113/Paris Pike
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
