Road Closure on KY 1936 (Pond Creek/Kenton Station Road) in Campbell County for Slide Repairs Beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 8

UPDATE: no through traffic during closure

UPDATE (Aug. 11, 2023) -- KYTC has closed KY 1936 (Pond Creek/Kenton Station Road) between mile points 3.1 and 3.3 to make additional slide repairs. No through traffic will be permitted during the closure. The listed detour in the initial press release still applies to motorists.

Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 17. KYTC will advise if this closure is extended beyond the expected completion date.

COVINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 6, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 Office advises motorists that a section of KY 1936 (Pond Creek/Kenton Station Road) in Campbell County will be closed between mile point 3.2 to 3.3 for five days for a slide repair project.

KYTC crews will be on-site from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Tuesday, Aug. 8 through Friday, Aug. 11. Crews will return on Monday, Aug. 14 to finish the work. The road will be closed during working hours. Motorists should seek an alternate route during the closure.

Local traffic will have access to sections of KY 1936. On the southbound side, the roadway will be fully closed for all traffic beginning about one-half mile from Wolf Road. On the northbound side, local traffic may pass Pleasant Ridge Road; however, the road will be closed when approaching 239 KY 1936. Motorists should be work zone alert and watch for crews and equipment.

  • Northbound detour: access KY 1936 from U.S. 27 (Alexandria Pike)
