Project includes reconstruction of roadway and sidewalk installation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 28, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces the awarding of a contract for an intersection improvement project of KY 22 (Brownsboro Road) in Jefferson County. This project will provide much-needed safety and operational improvements by improving turning movements on KY 22 at Springcrest Drive.
The reconstruction of two 11-foot travel lanes and a left turn lane at the Springcrest Drive intersection are included in this project. Additionally, a 6-foot sidewalk will be installed along the north side of KY 22 between the entrance just east of Cliffwynde Trce and Brownhurst Cove Road.
Preliminary work (off roadway) has begun, and the project start date is set for Tuesday, August 1. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic shifts, and delays as the project progresses. Drivers should heed the temporary signal, follow posted signs, and reduce speed when navigating through the work zone.
E & B Paving, LLC. of Clarksville, Indiana, was awarded the $5.1 million contract. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2024.
