Traffic Advisory: Downed Trees, Power Lines Blocking KY 693, KY 207, KY 7 in Greenup County

Closed to all thru traffic near Flatwoods, South Shore until further notice

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (March 4, 2023) – Downed trees and power lines have blocked three state highways in Greenup County as crews continue to clean up after Friday’s storm-induced high winds.

As of 9:30 a.m. today, the following roads at Flatwoods and South Shore are closed to all thru traffic at these locations:

  • KY 693 (Chinns Branch) on US 23 end in Flatwoods between Bryan Road and Caroline Road, around mile marker 2
  • KY 7 between Old Sunshine Road (downtown South Shore) and KY 784 at Morton Hill, around mile marker 19
  • KY 207 between Reid Street and Tom Road south of Flatwoods – between downtown and Industrial Parkway – around mile marker 14

Utility companies have been notified. Due to the amount of issues crews are dealing with, the roads could remain closed throughout the day and possibly overnight. Motorists should detour or seek alternate routes until further notice. Once power lines and poles are cleared, debris can be removed and the highways reopened.
