Construction of new left turn lane into Kingston Elementary School
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a project beginning in Madison County. Construction of a new left turn lane into Kingston Elementary School is scheduled. The location will be off of Battlefield Memorial Highway/US 421.
The Southern Contractor of Kentucky will begin work for waterline reconstruction on Monday, Feb. 27. A minimal impact to traffic is expected for this portion of the project. The next phase of the plan will start during the summer when school is not in session. The construction will be between milepoints 9.0 and 10.0.
The project was awarded to the Allen Company in the amount of $414,961.13. An anticipated completion date is August 1, 2023. The traveling public will be informed of significant changes to traffic patterns through advisories furnished to media outlets.
