KYTC personnel treating routes for

counties in District 7

Motorists should be aware of slick conditions for roadways

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 14, 2023)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that District 7 personnel are currently patrolling and treating routes. The 12 counties in District 7 are assessed individually based on terrain and temperatures.

Residual water left on roadways after precipitation can freeze and contribute to hazardous driving conditions. Motorists should remember that as temperatures have declined this evening there is the possibility of black ice. Black ice forms on asphalt and concrete. Ice develops on bridges, overpasses, and ramps prior to surface level roadways.
