Embankment Repairs begin Next Week on KY 197 in Pike County

One lane traffic and delays are expected as crews repair sites along Elkhorn Creek

PIKE COUNTY (Dec. 2, 2022) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of repairs along KY 197 in Pike County. Crews will begin repairing embankments along KY 197 at mile point 12.285 ( 2.5 miles West of KY 195 and 4.5 miles South of KY 80) in the Elkhorn Creek area just past Little Branch Road.

Work is expected to take two weeks as crews drill and stabilize multiple sites along the route then fill the embankments with rock. One lane traffic and delays are expected due to the equipment needed and narrow road widths. Crews will work Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Tuesday Dec. 6.

Motorists are encouraged to pay close attention to signage in the area as well as equipment parked during daytime and overnight hours.

King Crete has been contracted to perform the work. Schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
