Paving Season Starts Today!

District 7 Roads Scheduled for Repaving: Below are the roads that are expected to be paved in District 7 this spring. If you have any questions please contact Councilwoman Leet's office at 574-1107. 

Hillside Lane from Hubbards Lane to Dead End
Twinbrook Road from Hillside Lane to Dead End
Wending Court from Elmwood Avenue to Dead End 
Blankenbaker Lane from River Road to Woodside Drive
LaGrange Road from Lyndon Lane to Whipps Mill Road

Keep Work Zone Safety in Mind

Then will come prep work such as curb replacements followed by removal of old pavement or cutting edges into pavement that will be paved over. Finally the main paving gets done, followed by new striping and other road markings. The coming of April will bring a variety of markings on the roads in spring colors--red, yellow, orange, blue and green--as paving season gets underway. Those color coded markings on sidewalks and roadways will be the first visible sign of most paving work. Red will mark the location of electrical lines, yellow will mark gas lines, orange for communication lines, blue for water, and green for sewer lines.

Pavement season is an additional reason to be aware of what to do when traveling through work zones. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recorded 791 crashes in highway construction and maintenance work zones last year. Three people died and 173 were injured. Here's a list of work zone safety tips aimed at driving those numbers down: 

• Put away cellphones and other distractions
• Slow down
• Don't tailgate
• Maintain a safe distance from workers and equipment
• Expect the unexpected
• Obey road crew flag signals
• Allow more travel time if your route includes a work zone
• Be patient

District 7 Constituent Spotlight

Councilwoman Leet was honored to join Council Members Parker and Stuckel in recognizing Nicole Young and the Lyndon Fire Department. Earlier this year in February both Young and the Lyndon Fire Department where an integral part in rescuing a couple and their dog who fell into a frozen pond at the Woodbridge Apartments on Ormsby Lane. VA Hospital Update

Councilwoman Leet receives follow-up letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Councilwoman Leet submitted comments for the VA Site-specific Environmental Assessment in January. Louisville Loop Update

The second public meeting for the project was held on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at Locust Grove, 561 Blankenbaker Lane, Louisville, KY 40207. The meeting was an open house format with a brief overview presentation about the project at 6:00 p.m. Residents were invited to view exhibits about the project area and provide input about the Loop, the project area, and other topics related to the project. Louisville Water Company prepares to launches a new Customer Care and Billing System

All Louisville Water accounts now have a new 10-digit number.  It's one of the features of a new customer care and billing system that also includes a Customer Care Portal Link.

ENROLL NOW IN LINK
Use these basic instructions to register for LINK and enroll your Louisville Water account:

1. Find your new 10-digit account number on your statement. You will also need the phone number and Social Security number associated with your account.

2. Go to LouisvilleWater.com and click on View Account. Select Register Now, create a user name
and enter your name and email address. A confirmation email will go to your inbox.

3. Follow the hyperlink in your confirmation email. Once in LINK, re-enter user name and choose your
password. Stay in LINK for the next step, enrolling your account.

4. Click on Home button to sign in to LINK and enroll your account. Enter your account number,
phone number and Social Security number. Once enrolled, you will be able to use all the features in LINK.
