Holiday Week Schedule of Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste Collection Christmas and New Year’s!
Solid waste services will be altered under the following schedule for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks:
Garbage/yard waste/recycling
There will be no residential garbage, yard waste or recycling collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25 or New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1 within in the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits). There will also be no junk/bulk waste collection in either week entirely.
Residents who normally have garbage/yard waste/recycling collection on Thursday will have service instead on Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 2. The regular Friday collection for both weeks will be delayed until Saturday.
Curbside and Drop-off Christmas Tree Disposal Available!

Metro Solid Waste Management will again this year offer curbside pickup of Christmas Trees to residents of the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville boundaries). Beginning Friday, December 26, residents with City curbside yard waste pickup may set their Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day. Trees must not be in plastic bags. Drop-off sites will recycle trees into mulch that citizens can take home.
 Free Sports Leadership Camps for Youth

Former University of Louisville basketball player Robbie Valentine will host A Sports Leadership Camps for youth. Registration will take place on the day of the camp. Youth should wear proper basketball attire. For more information, 502-456-8178.
