Register your family, friends, employer, place of worship, suburban city, group, organization or school for the Brightside Community-Wide Cleanup, October 22. Brightside's Community-Wide Cleanup is being held in conjunction with Mayor Fischer's Day of Service.
Last spring, more than 6,400 volunteers removed 20 tons of trash from streets, sidewalks and green spaces. Volunteers receive free bags and gloves. T-Shirts available to the first 5,000 volunteers. Angie Fenton emceed the VIP Hospitality and Sponsor Appreciation Ceremony. The Celebrity Match provided fabulous entertainment for over 1,800 players and spectators who visited the park. More than 200 teams participated from 4 states for this well know tournament.

Brightside strives to find ways for all Louisville residents to become engaged in keeping our community clean, green and beautiful. NatureScape Grants are designed to help neighborhood groups and other non-profits keep the public spaces of the community looking its best by connecting your group with the needed resources to create the garden or beautification project of your choosing.
The YUM! Brands - Vegetable Gardening Division encourages non-profit groups to create a vegetable garden where produce will be grown and shared among members of a community.
Brightside's fall NatureScape Grant Application deadline is September 30, 2011. The winners will be announced in fall of 2011, along with this past spring's winners. Brightside has awarded 113 grants totaling $125,000 for beautification projects or edible gardens under this program.
