The West Louisville Playground Initiative is a bold fund-raising effort by the Louisville Metro Parks Foundation which will totally renovate three of our city's most challenged playgrounds.
The first phase of this project will focus on a renovation of the playground at California Park located on 1600 St. Catherine Street
With the DREAM Foundation forming a public-private partnership with the Louisville Metro Parks Department this will allow for them to begin exploring innovative and strategic strategies to redesign playgrounds as part of Dream's “Play Together” initiative.
The remodel of these playgrounds will allow kids with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities an opportunity to play alongside all other kids. A higher level of inclusive play brings children together to help them develop and build confidence, make friends, and play as equals.
The estimated cost for all three playground renovations is 1,650,000.00, and we are so proud to start this new project that will benefit all children.
