Northern Overlook Meeting Well Attended!

The public meeting to gather suggestions for the restoration of the northern overlook at Iroquois Park had nearly 75 citizens in attendance.  Residents visited tents set up to learn about different aspects of the park and the project.  Subjects included history, capital dollars spent and available, geology, watershed, etc…  People turned in their suggestions to Olmsted.

“From speaking with those in attendance, suggestions range from a covered pavilion to a restaurant;” said Councilwoman Butler.  She is pictured below with Metro Parks Asstistant Director Marty Storch, Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz and State Representative Denny Butler.

Overall this million dollar project is a collaboration of public and private funds.

Thanks to all who participated in the public exercise. The weather was great and the view is spectacular! Thank you to Charlie Keys for taking the pictures!

MetroTV Now Available on AT&T U-verse

MetroTV, the official citizen television window into Louisville Metro Government, is now available to subscribers of AT&T U-verse on Channel 99. U-verse subscribers now have access to the same MetroTV programming already available to Time Warner Cable Subscribers on Channel 25.

MetroTV launched on U-verse June 16 throughout Louisville. Programming features live and replayed coverage of meetings of the Metro Council, coverage of press conferences of the Mayor’s Office, coverage of Metro Government departments and services, and coverage of community events.

MetroTV also provides special services, such as a calendar of events provided by Metro Council members, and programs developed in partnership with Metro Government agencies. Community events hosted by local organizations such as the Fund for the Arts and Louisville Public Media are also covered among nearly 1,000 original MetroTV programs and over 400 programming hours annually.

“Joining the U-verse programming lineup is a real plus for Louisville,” Mayor Greg Fischer said. “It’s a great way to allow more citizens to keep informed and see their government at work.”

“The public, education and government programming available on channel 99 and through the Main Menu of U-verse TV provides our Kentucky U-verse TV customers access to insightful and locally-based programming,” said AT&T Kentucky President Hood Harris.
