St. George Reading Rockets

Early this morning, Councilman David James attended the        St. George Reading Rockets Summer Program in support of a group of great kids who are eager to learn and read even during the summer.

The Program sponsors children from grades 1st through 8th  at Maupin Elementary School with 73 actually enrolled. The goal of the Reading Rockets program is to awaken the social conscious and academic responsibility of youth through an integrated reading curriculum during the summer months.

The program features one great reader per day in order to help our children excel in areas that tend to lack in some of our local communities.

The Reading Rocket Summer Program will continue on through July 25th so if you like to read to the children or become a volunteer to help please contact Keishanna Hughes, Program Director, (502) 775-6232
