be a 7th grader next school year, he is very dedicated to his academics and finished this school year
with all A honors and was awarded a Citizenship award.
Ethan enjoys playing sports including: basketball and baseball. Ethan has a bright future in store.

Grand Re-Opening June 27th at 5pm

Fischer and others for the special Grand Reopening of Good Ole Jessie’s Dixie
Diner on Friday June 27th.
Jessie’s Dixie Diner has reopened
under new ownership and the restaurant has under gone some renovations while
still retaining a menu that many in Southwest Louisville have come to enjoy
over the years.
The Special grand reopening Ceremony
will get under way 5:00pm.

In less
than three days, Metro Louisville residents can enjoy the only fireworks show
on the Ohio River celebrating Independence Day. The Third Annual Riverview Park
Independence Festival, presented by Brown-Forman and Louisville Gas and
Electric Company, kicks off this Saturday, June 28, and includes music, food,
and family activities to celebrate America’s founding.
The event is free to the
public. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. and end with fireworks on the River at 10
p.m. Joining Blackwell as Metro Council sponsors are Cindi Fowler (D-14),
Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Marianne Butler (D-15) and David Yates (D-25).
Among the highlights of this
year’s Festival:
- Events emceed by Southwest Louisville’s own Dawne Gee
- Performances by 31W and Ode 2 the Gnu
- Kids’ activities include appearances by Squallis Puppeteers, fun experiments
provided by Mad Science of Kentucky, and the wonderful Riverview Splash Park
- Hot air balloon rides offered in the Kosair Children’s Hospital balloon
- Ron’s Hot Dogs, Ehrler’s Ice Cream, and other delicious “fair” fare
- The Pyrotechnic Display Inc.’s team is set to deliver an even bigger fireworks
show than the one that dazzled the crowd last year. The show will be lit from a
barge on the Ohio River creating a colorful reflection on the water.
Limited parking is available at
Riverview Park. Additional parking will be available at PRP High School,
located at 5901 Greenwood Road. TARC will be providing a trolley shuttle
service for attendees 4:00pm until 10:45 p.m.

the Presenting Sponsors of this year’s Independence Festival. Café Press, WAVE
