The Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center staff has only two Orientation Sessions left in West Louisville where job seekers can learn about the center's manufacturing training programs, career-readiness testing and job-search assistance.
You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. You must attend an Orientation Session to qualify and register for the next Certified Production Technician (CPT) class that begins May 19 in West Louisville.
If you're tired of dead-end jobs and want to get the training that will prepare you for jobs in manufacturing that pay between $11/hour and $25/hour, you need to attend one of these remaining sessions:

The CPT course, developed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council, covers modules in Safety, Quality & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes, and Maintenance Awareness. Graduates earn a nationally recognized certificate and nine college credit hours from Jefferson Community & Technical College (JCTC) to be used in manufacturing programs. Graduates also will have opportunities to be interviewed by representatives of local manufacturing companies for jobs before completing the course.
The Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center will conduct a special class for the CPT course from May 19 through June 16 (no class on May 26, Memorial Day) at the NIA Center, 2900 W. Broadway at 29th St., in West Louisville. The classes will be held each Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a half hour lunch break and each Friday from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
If you already have manufacturing training and are looking for a different manufacturing job, the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center career specialists also can assist you in finding manufacturing jobs. More than 30 local manufacturers post jobs with the center.

The recently held Community Conversation for the California Community was a smashing success and is the start of great things to come for the community as a whole. The next Community Conversation will be Saturday, May 17th at the California Community Center beginning at 10:00 a.m. ending at 12:00 noon. The Center for Neighborhoods is providing their expertise so that we will be able to accomplish positive outcomes for the community.
