How District 15 helped you this year!

Councilwoman Butler and staff, Susan Hughes and Dan Luckett, helped nearly 2,200 District 15 residents with questions and concerns.  Over 1,100 concerns were placed with Metro Call creating a tracking number for follow-up; over 500 calls required a call back for information that was researched and over 520 calls were residents calling back with new information on a concern.

The most frequent calls pertained to illegal dumping.  Councilwoman Butler spoke with Chief Conrad about illegal dumping and enforcement to make sure that all of the officers were aware that vehicles used in the act of illegal dumping could be impounded.  Chief Conrad sent out a training bulletin to all sworn personnel on Wednesday detailing the Illegal Dumping Ordinance that allows for impoundment of the vehicle and how an officer should proceed should he/she witness illegal dumping or have a resident with photos of someone in the act of illegal dumping.  From Solid Waste Management, most individuals that dump illegally do it within walking distance of their home.  If you see someone in the act, please call the police.  If you are able, take photos but do not confront the individual(s).  Thanks for helping us combat this problem and improve the quality of life for all.

Thanks for a great year!  Many thanks to Susan and Dan for facilitating many concerns with the various departments – District 15 residents are very lucky to have such dedicated people working on their behalf.  If I or the staff can help you, please give us a call at 502.574.115.

Best wishes for a great 2014!

Plant a Christmas Tree!

Make a lasting impact by purchasing a Christmas tree that you can plant.  It is easy to maintain a live Christmas tree for a short period of time indoors that can then be permanently planted outside for future enjoyment. For further information on how to do this go to www.brightsideinc.org
