Louisville’s First Bicycle Friendly Business- Bronze status
Louisville Metro’s Development Center Building located at 444 South 5th Street has been named Louisville’s first bicycle-friendly business earning a bronze rating in the LAB’S Bicycle Friendly Business program. Find out how your business can become a bicycle friendly business: http://www.bikeleague.org/content/businesses
Bike lanes
Metro’s Urban Bike Network continues to connect people to destination with its newest facilities on Frankfort Ave, West Gaulbert, 7th St and Zane St! Currently the weather has slowed our progress, but additional lanes will be installed once the weather warms up. These facilities help connect UofL through Old Louisville to Downtown including the UofL Health Science campus, Jefferson Community Technical College, and many other destinations
Shared lane Markings on Zane St. help provide wayfinding for cyclists
7th St. becomes a bicycle friendly route through the removal of metered parking and the addition of a drive side buffer bike lane.
Bike Louisville Partners with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (District 5) to provide new bike signage and markings to help cyclists across the railroad tracks at Frankfort Ave and Weikel Ave.
