Healthy Hoops Kentucky at Moore High School

Healthy Hoops Kentucky is a free program that uses basketball and fun to focus on the needs of kids ages seven through 13 who have asthma.  Children who attend will participate in health screenings, workshops on asthma management, and basketball clinics with celebrity coaches and players.

10th Annual McNeely Lake Cleanup

Saturday, October 5th (rain or shine)

Cleanup 9:00 am - noon

Music and Lunch for Volunteers: 10:00 am - 1:00pm    

This event is fun for the whole family. Each year tons of trash is collected from the lake and park.  Supplies will be provided but be sure to dress appropriately.  Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will shuttle people around the lake. Music provided by A Girl Named Earl.  If you have a small flat bottomed boat you could bring please contact us at 574-1123 or James.Peden@louisvilleky.gov.

Highview Community Fall Festival and Parade

Transportation Cabinet Roadwork in Jefferson County for the week beginning September 23rd.

Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice.

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

Jefferson County:

KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between the Greyling Road overpass and Interstate 65 (mile points 4.1 to 9.6) due to concrete pavement repairs.  Lane closures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26 from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30.

Northbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Shoulder closures possible at the exit ramp to US 60 (Exit 27) due to shoulder repairs.

Eastbound Interstate 64:  The exit ramp to northbound Hurstbourne Parkway (Exit 15C) will be closed for bridge deck repairs.  This ramp closure is scheduled from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30.  Motorists should follow the signed detour via eastbound I-64 to Blankenbaker Parkway (Exit 17), access westbound I-64 and proceed to Hurstbourne Parkway. 

Southbound Interstate 65:  The exit ramp to St. Catherine Street (Exit 135) is closed for bridge pier cap replacement.  This ramp closure will continue through the end of September.  A signed detour is in place via I-65 South to Arthur Street.  From there motorists will be directed to East Brandeis Avenue and South Brook Street where they can access St. Catherine Street.

Eastbound Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays possible at the bridge over Mellwood Avenue (mile point 6.6) due to bridge deck repairs.  Lane closures scheduled for Wednesday evening, September 25 from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.

US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Woodbourne Avenue (mile point 13.5) due to utility work by LG&E.  The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26. 

KY 1747 (Fern Valley Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Holiday Towers Boulevard and Artisan Way (mile points 0.9 to 4.3) due to installation of pavement markers.  Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. 

US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Hikes Lane and Gardiner Lane (mile points 10.9 and 12.1) due to roadway milling and resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.  Shoulder closures are possible weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for sidewalk ramp repairs.

US 60 (Shelbyville Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Long Run Road and the Jefferson/Shelby County line (mile points 15.7 to 17.3) due to drainage repairs. 

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway):   Lane closures and delays possible between Ormsby Station Road and Westport Road (mile points 15.1 and 17.0) due to roadway striping and sidewalk ramp repairs.  Lane closures possible weeknights from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekends from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.  Shoulder closures are possible weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for sidewalk ramp installation.

US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Brentlinger Lane and the I-265 interchange (mile points 4.3 and 5.0) due to roadway widening.  Lane closures are possible weeknights Monday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.  The speed limit is reduced in the work zone.

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway):  Lane closures and delays possible between Bluegrass Parkway and Linn Station Road (mile points 11.6 and 12.2) due to the interchange improvement project.  Lane closures are possible weeknights from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

KY 1932 (Breckenridge Lane):  Lane closures and delays possible between Bardstown Road and Interstate 264 (mile points 0.0 to 3.4) due to roadway milling and resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

KY 2803 (Arthur Street):  Lane closures and delays possible between KY 61 and Warnock Street (mile points 0.0 and 0.27) due to sidewalk repairs
