On Saturday, August 24, you can take part in a great event, get some excercise, and support a worthy cause. The 8th Annual "Walk Away from Colon Cancer & 5K Run" will take place at Iroquois Park. The event is the largest 5K in this area to support the fight against colon cancer.
Each year, thousands of American families are affected by this common but little discussed disease. Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cancer killer in both men and women in Kentucky, Indiana, and the whole U.S. despite the fact that it is one of the most preventable forms of cancer. Festivities start at 8:00am and include a healthy village, a Kid Zone, healthy snacks, music, and more! Chip-timed runners in the 5K begin at 9:00am.
Register today online or by calling (502) 290-0288. Complete information about the event can be found here.
