Would you like to do something positive and meaningful within our local community?
Please join me and the PRP Fire department this weekend as we collect contributions for the Crusade for Children.
The WHAS Crusade for Children celebrates 60 years of making life better for special needs children in 2013. As you know, our fire fighters have become a symbol of Crusade for Children, but they need our help!
Participation among firefighters was started by our own Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District in 1956. Back then they raised an impressive $10,000.
Last year, PRP collected $314,132.27, the most money they have ever collected. The PRP fire chief credits that to our local community. “I think our residents give from the heart,” PRP Fire Chief Vincent Smith. “I think that’s the only thing I can contribute it to.”
This weekend they need our help. Please join me this Saturday and Sunday, June 1st and 2nd to canvass neighborhoods.
We will meet at the PRP Fire Station at 9500 Stonestreet Road for breakfast starting at 8:00 AM. Then will head out on fire trucks to canvass neighborhoods and go door to door collecting contributions for this worthy charity.
We will return to the fire station around noon for lunch and then head back out for a few more hours. I hope you can come out to volunteer with us this weekend for all or part of these times.
If you, your friends and/or family would like to be part of worthy cause, please contact my office as soon as possible.
Thanks,
David
