DISTRICT 7 UPDATE
 River Road closed between Edith Road & Frankfort Avenue - Now through February 5
The UCI Cylco-cross World Championships are coming to Louisville on Feb. 2-3 at Eva Bandman Park on River Road. And it's bringing the world's best cycling athletes to town.
What is cyclo-cross? It's described by its loyal following as "an hour of pain." The sport is contested on pavement, over grass, through sand and mud, and requires the rider to quickly dismount and carry the bike while navigating obstructions and man-made obstacles. District 7 Has A New Facebook Page!
 In an effort to keep you informed of the latest news and events impacting District 7 and Metro Louisville, my office has established a Facebook page where you will find links to articles, important notifications and event details. For example, I posted a link to my recent appearance on WDRB’s Point of View segment where I expressed concerns about the newly proposed local option sales tax (LOST). While this new 1% sales tax would represent a 20% increase in revenue, it creates a heavier tax burden on you. As an alternative, we need to eliminate the occupational tax which would spur job creation.
