We are excited to announce the Grand Opening of our new Satellite Office
at the Fairdale Playtorium! The Playtorium is located at 10616 Manslick W.
Manslick Road, behind the new Fairdale Library. In an effort to be more
accessible to constituents, the Satellite Office will be open Mondays and
Fridays 12:00-5:00pm. Our Grand Opening Celebration will be January 28th from
2:00-5:00pm. Please stop by and see our new space! Feel free to drop in any
Monday or Friday afternoon to share your thoughts or concerns.
Mayor Fischer and CM David Yates will be
on hand Monday, Feburary 4th at 6:00pm at the SW Library, 10375 Dixie Highway,
for the 1st public meeting to announce plans and the construction timetable for
our new SW Regional Library that will open in 2014.
The future is bright for the SW Library!
Planning continues for a new 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art Southwest
Regional Library, to be located in the 9900 block of Dixie Highway next to
Meijer. This new building will double the size of the current building and will
represent a significant investment by the library in SW Louisville. When these
new developments are completed, the Southwest Branch will be poised to meet the
continuing needs of its community well into the 21st century.
South Louisville
Community Ministries is excited to announce the Families Helping Families
Community Campaign. This exciting event will feature special guests Jane
Beshear and Madeline Abramson! It will be February 27th 3:30-5:30pm at UofL
University Club. Seating is limited - individual tickets are $50 and tables of

Join Southwest
Community Ministries Saturday, March 2nd at Highland Baptist Church
for its Annual Dinner/Auction Fundraiser. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased
by calling 502-935-0310. SWCM is also accepting donated auction items. Doors
will open at 6:00pm with dinner at 6:30 and a live auction beginning at 7:30.
Highview Baptist Church is located at 5415 Valley Station Road.

Sluggers
Warehouse, located at 8501 Al’s Way, will be hosting a Winter Wee Ball League
for beginners ages 3 to 5. The league will consist of a total of 7 weeks; 5
weeks of instructional time and a two week tournament. The cost of the league
will be $85.00 per player which will include a team shirt and an end of season
