I am honored to have been selected by my colleagues as Vice-Chair of the Democratic Caucus of Metro Council. My colleagues and I selected Councilman David James as Majority Leader and Caucus Chair. Councilman James was elected to Metro Council in 2010 and in 2012 chaired the Council’s Public Safety Committee where he and I successfully led efforts to tighten scrap metal theft laws. I look forward to working with Councilman James on the issues that face us in the coming year. The Democratic Caucus and Metro Council continue to find realistic solutions to problems and enact programs for a better quality of life for our citizens.

Sluggers Warehouse, located at 8501 Al’s Way, will be hosting a Winter Wee Ball League for beginners ages 3 to 5. The league will consist of a total of 7 weeks; 5 weeks of instructional time and a two week tournament. The cost of the league will be $85.00 per player which will include a team shirt and an end of season pizza party for each team. South Louisville Community Ministries is excited to announce the Families Helping Families Community Campaign. This exciting event will feature special guests Jane Beshear and Madeline Abramson! Center For Neighborhoods is happy to announce the Neighborhood Institute Spring 2013! It will be held at New Directions Housing Corp. (1000 East Liberty Street) January 29th - April 16th. The Institute is held every Tuesday for 12 consecutive weeks from 6:00-8:30pm and dinner is provided each week. The Neighborhood Institute Spring 2013 is open to all neighborhoods, Metro Council Districts and the whole community.
