Grasshoppers
Distribution, in partnership with Seed Capital Kentucky, the Yum! Foundation,
Heine Brothers and generous Grasshoppers customers is inviting our community to
donate fresh free-range turkeys raised on regional farms, plus other
sustainable holiday food staples, through The Center for Women and Families,
Family Scholar House, Neighborhood House, Portland Promise Center, The
Salvation Army and the Shawnee Arts & Cultural Center. Now through Tuesday
at midnight donations can be made online as well
as in person at Grasshoppers’ 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Market today
and Tuesday from 10:00am to 6:00pm at 1501 Portland Avenue. For more

 ElderServe and Two Chicks & Company invite you to a
special day of holiday shopping Sunday, November 25th 1:00-5:00pm. There will
be great gifts, jewelry, holiday décor, purses, accessories and much more! 15%

ElderServe is a group of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters working
together with the Derby Festival 2013 Marathon & MiniMarathon to raise

 As we enter the winter months, you may be interested in participating in the WeCare program offered by
LGE/KU Energy Efficiency Department for income eligible customers. Call the
Energy Efficiency Program information line at 1-800-356-5467 or visit their

Can
you spare a couple hours a week to assist students in their studies? High
school and college students can receive service hours tutoring and providing
homework assistance from now through April. Elementary tutors are needed
Tuesdays or Thursdays (9621 Dixie Hwy, 40272) from 4:30pm-6:00pm and Middle
School tutors are needed Mondays at Frost Middle School (13700 Sandray
Bouldevard, 40272) from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Curriculum is provided and tutoring will
