On October 7, 2026, the Coalition for the Homeless expects to serve more than 600 individuals at the Salvation Army, 911 S. Brook Street, 9 AM - 1 PM. There will be a light breakfast, lunch and coffee, free items in backpacks and well space, shelter and service referrals. Proceeds from this free event will also support Rx: Housing, a program that helps remove financial barriers to housing, such as security deposits, utility deposits, and moving expenses, enabling people to transition more quickly from homelessness into stable housing. As hundreds of thousands of people gather to enjoy the food, exhibits, concerts and activities at the Kentucky State Fair, the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMPHW) is working behind the scenes to help everyone have a safe and healthy experience. From food safety inspections to family support services, LMPHW staff will be on-site throughout the fair to provide resources, answer questions and help protect public health. AT&T will access manhole for splice work on Cooper Chapel Rd. The work will take place sometime between August 16th and September 25th. Pre-Paving and Paving for the Week of August 17thWeather permitting, the pre-paving/site work (including remove/replace curbs, ramps, ditching, shoulder work, and sidewalk work) and milling/paving locations for the upcoming week are below.
