WELCOME Our New Intern: Grace!

cw ben and grace

Please help us welcome our new summer intern, Grace! Grace comes to us from the University of California, Santa Barbara and studies psychology and brain science! She is also on a pre-law track and plans to attend law school once she graduates. Grace graduated from Louisville's Ballard High School and is home for the summer looking to be engaged with our community.

She was able to join us for our third Building Our Blocks event in the Hallmark neighborhood last week, and we're so glad she attended. If you see her out with us, please be sure to say hi and make her feel welcome!

Metro Council D3 Budget Highlights, Council goes on BREAK!

Councilwoman Parrish-Wright spoke at the monthly Democratic Caucus press conference regarding the fiscal year 2027 budget. Contained in the budget are a few allocations for District 3 capital projects, including more funding for the GG Moore park redevelopment, road re-paving, and a new Algonquin Parkway shared use path. While these are great projects, District 3 still has many needs, including a new library.

The Louisville Metro Council will not meet again until July 21st for a regular committee week. While the council will not meet, Louisville Metro Government is still open. That means if you see a vacant or abandoned car or property, please continue reporting those to 311. If you have a trash or recycling issue, please continue to notify Solid Waste Management.

Additionally, the District 3 team will still be working during the break, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, and keep inviting us to your events and neighborhood meetings.
