This past Saturday was a busy one & we loved every minute of it!
We kicked off the day with Coffee with Ken at Ntaba Coffee in Clifton Heights, then spent the rest of the afternoon visiting Baxter Park, California Park, Victory Park, Waterfront Park, and St. Stephen’s Centennial celebration connecting with residents and enjoying all the great energy across District 4.
Have an upcoming event in D4? Let us know! If our schedule allows, we’d love to stop by and support!
Councilman Ken Herndon met with Louisville Parks & Recreation Assistant Director of Recreation, Ben Johnson, today and had the opportunity to see programming at Baxter Community Center in action.

Construction underway on 11th Street Rehabilitation Project
The Louisville Metro Department of Transportation has begun the 11th Street Rehabilitation Project to improve roadway conditions and enhance safety along 11th Street between W. Chestnut Street and W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
The project includes full pavement rehabilitation, installation of a new ADA-compliant sidewalk connection and updated curb ramps, as well as other long-term roadway safety improvements designed to provide a smoother and safer travel experience for motorists, pedestrians, and residents.
|
Traffic impacts
To accelerate construction and reduce the overall project timeline, 11th Street is closed to through traffic between W. Chestnut Street and W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard during construction.
Access for residents, emergency services, and essential deliveries will be maintained whenever possible; however, motorists should expect delays and temporary traffic adjustments throughout the project.
Project schedule
Construction began June 8 and is expected to be completed by August 1, 2026, weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour routes and construction signage, use alternate routes when possible, and allow additional travel time while work is underway.
Louisville Metro appreciates the public’s patience as these improvements are completed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the long-term condition of this important transportation corridor.
