Resolution Passed asking for Guidelines for Data Center Regulations

The Metro Council passed a resolution asking the administration to propose guidelines regarding data center regulations for Jefferson County and the The Louisville Metro Office of Planning has officially released a draft proposal. 6/9/26 initiated a 30-day public review and comment period before the proposal moves to the Planning Commission. Below is a link you can access to read the proposed language and comment on it before the Planning Commission meets. This is chance to get your voice heard!

Once the Planning Commission approves the language, the Metro Council will get an opportunity to make amendments and approve the final version.  There are several areas that address noise pollution, air pollution, energy needs and other topics. Please review this document and share your concerns.

Empty V 80's Band - Bringing Back the 80's at Friday Fest, June 19

Empty V 80's Band is a regional dance and party band that regularly tours the Louisville area. They are known for their MTV-era classics, pop, and rock anthems. Free Admisssion to a Louisville Bats Game While Tickets Last

The Louisville Bats, AAA Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds are once again delighted to host two Metro Council Community Nights of baseball this season. These two games are scheduled for Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, September 9. While supplies last, the offer will include free admission for a reserved seat at Louisville Slugger Field, and a voucher good for one free hot dog and one free small soft drink. 

These Metro Council Community game night offers are available to all constituents of the 26 Metro Council Districts, geared toward, but not exclusively for residents who might otherwise not be able to afford to attend a Bats game. The offer is extended to both individuals and mentoring organizations, social service agencies, underprivileged kids’ groups, etc. 

Forms will be monitored and will close once each district has reached their maximum capacity of 300 tickets – Groups and individuals are advised to request their tickets in advance to ensure availability!

The cutoff date for ticket requests for the August 11 date is August 3 and September 1 is the cutoff for the September 9 game.

Join The Complete Streets Coalition

Are you interested in helping create safer, more accessible streets for everyone in Louisville Metro? If so, consider applying to join Louisville Metro’s Complete Streets Coalition.

The coalition was established as part of the 2022 amendments to Louisville Metro’s Complete Streets Ordinance. It includes 15 community members, along with representatives from the Louisville Metro Department of Transportation (DOT), the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), and the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA).

Members play an important role in reviewing publicly funded transportation projects to make sure they consider the needs of people of all ages and abilities, across all modes of travel. The Coalition also helps projects meet or exceed Louisville’s adopted design standards, supporting a more connected and inclusive transportation network.

There are currently several open positions, residents from across Louisville Metro are encouraged to apply. Thomas Jefferson & Natural History - 4-Week Course Starting June 25

Dr. Lee Dugatkin will explore Thomas Jefferson's important role in early American natural history in this 4-week short course--from his argument with the world's leading natural historian, to his role in the first museum in the United States and his involvement in a 1972 expedition West (that would have made Lewis and Clark's journey an historical footnote), to his obsession with the Hessian Files.
