Louisville Metro's Department of Transportation will hold an additional Freight Mobility Action Plan public information session on Tuesday, February 24 from 5-7 P.M. at the Edison Center (701 W Ormsby St). Attached is an informational flyer.

Included in the flyer is a link to our public engagement survey. We ask that you please share this link in your newsletters and via social media. The survey is open through March 6. We hope to receive feedback from residents in all 26 districts.

The survey link can also be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JB6NFNN

The Freight Mobility Action Plan will help us better understand how freight movement impacts residents, with the goal of establishing a preferred freight network that prioritizes efficient movement of goods while reducing negative impacts like noise, congestion, infrastructure damage, and the like. DOT has partnered with HDR Engineering on the plan, which is anticipated to be completed by July 2026.

Here is our adoptable pet of the week, Axel!

"Eyes on the prize, paws on the pavement, and brains... somewhere in the bushes."

He’s clearly a "live fast, sniff hard" kind of guy who doesn't let things like kennel stress or fashionable cone pillows slow down his mission to see everything at once. Axel is 3yrs old, a totally lover boy with an adventurous side. We believe he is house trained too! Meet Axel at Animal House today!

Our pet of the week is James P Sullivan,

"Hi, I’m James (FKA as Tank)!

And I have a confession: I am a toy hoarder.

Why hold one tennis ball when you can fit three? Why choose between the squeaky pig and the rope when you can just... take them all?

The volunteers say I have a "zest for life" despite living in a kennel!

My fav activity (besides hoarding toys..) is eating cheeseburgers (yes, that really happened, and it was the best day of my life 🍔).

I’m a 60lb lap dog. Seriously. If you sit down, I will be in your lap. Plus kisses.

I might try to walk you by holding the leash in my mouth. I’m helping!

I dream of a family who will supply me with endless cuddles and stuffies.

I came here after our family lost their home. We were loved, and I miss them, but I’m ready to bring my toy collection to your house." xoxoxo James P Sullivan (TANK).

No adoption fee thanks to Friends of Metro Animal Services
