Louisville Metro Animal Services Pets of the Week

TruckStop

Our adoptable doggo of the week is Truck Stop!

“If you visit kennel N07, you’ll see a dog who looks like he's practicing for the Olympic high jump! That's our boy, TRUCK STOP! He's airborne, he's excited, he's doing everything he can to get your attention "Please, look at me! I'm ready to go home!"

But the secret is.. the dog you seen behind the kennel isn't the real Truck Stop. To see the real him,  you just have to give him a leash and a chance!

Truck Stop is a smart, photogenic boy who knows how to sit for treats and lives for head scratches. He’s been through some transitions lately and is so ready for a couch to call his own.

Ready to hit the road? Drive safe with your copilot Truck Stop!

NO ADOPTION FEE thanks to the Friends of Metro Animal Services!

Foster to adopt is available! Take him home for a "test drive" to see if he’s the right fit for your family.

Potholes are Popping Up All Over - Here's How to Report Them

Potholes

Four snow events this season, repeated freezing and thawing, and winter road treatments have taken a toll on Louisville Metro streets. These harsh conditions weaken pavement and lead to potholes.

In 2025 alone, Louisville Metro's Department of Transportation has filled more than 48,860 potholes. Reporting them helps crews respond more quickly, keeping roads safer and smoother for everyone throughout the winter months.

FY27 EAF App. Opens January 12

Dear members of Louisville Metro's arts & culture community,

Louisville Metro's Office of Arts + Creative Industries is excited to announce the opening of the FY27 Cycle of External Agency Fund grants. Additional information on this opportunity, and the new cycle can be found below, and on OACI's Grants Webpage.

The FY27 Application will open on January 12, 2026, at 12:00 AM.

The deadline to receive all application materials will be February 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

For returning applicants, the format of the opportunity will remain largely consistent with last year's cycle. The application will once again be processed through the Euna Grants Portal, awards will come in $25,000 or $50,000 tiers, funding will be eligible for operational expenses, and our focus remains on serving arts & cultural organizations primarily.

OACI and the Mayor's Office have worked to collect and implement feedback from last cycle's grant applicants, and as a result we have developed new tools, resources, and opportunities for applicants this cycle. During the application period, several sessions are planned for the benefit of prospective applicants, including Q&A sessions, grantwriting workshops, technical trainings on the Euna Grants Portal, and Pre-Deadline Office Hours for any last-minute application headaches. To learn more about the timing of these sessions and access the links to join, visit the Grant Timeline tab on the OACI Grants Webpage.

It is our honor to be able to support arts & cultural organizations like yours in the annual EAF grant cycle.  We you have had a restful holiday season, and we wish you a wonderful New Year in 2026.

Sincerely,

Louisville Metro's Office of Arts + Creative Industries
