Thrive By 5 Announces Quality + Pilot Program

a

I was very honored to join Mayor Craig Greenberg and leaders from Thrive By 5 at the press conference announcing their Quality+ Pilot Project. This exciting initiative will elevate 26 early learning sites, across the Metro Council Districts, by providing support and funding for professional development, improving learning environments, and helping families access and afford early childcare.

This two-year program will also break down barriers for our workforce, educators, and children. Each center will receive a dedicated one-on-one coach to help build a strong, tailored plan for success. I’m very proud of this program and the positive impact it will have—making high-quality early childhood education possible for so many families in our community. 🌟

November 6th Division Officer of the Month - Sergeant Manley Berthold

a

The Sixth Division Command Staff and Advisory Board selected Sergeant Manley Berthold as the Officer of the Month for November in recognition of his 20 years of dedicated service with LMPD.

Sergeant Berthold was a veteran commanding officer in the Sixth Division and was known for his selfless service to his family, coworkers, and community. When Berthold retired, he truly left the division better than he found it, not only by improving the aesthetics within the division by taking on multiple projects, but by improving the culture and morale of the officers he led by his example. He is greatly missed, but is probably on a hockey rink or traveling on another great adventure somewhere enjoying his much-deserved retirement!
