 Have a Sustainable Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is all about gratitude, family, and amazing food—but it can also pile up a lot of trash. This year, let’s keep the holiday festive and sustainable! Here are some easy tips to make your Thanksgiving greener:
🦃 Check Before You Toss Wondering if that pie tin or cranberry sauce jar is recyclable? Use our Recycle Coach app! It’s the easiest way to find out what goes in the bin and what doesn’t. Download it today and make recycling stress-free.
🍽 Ditch Disposables Skip the paper plates and plastic forks. Use your washable dishes and utensils—it’s more elegant and better for the planet.
🥡 Share the Leftovers, Not the Waste Thanksgiving leftovers are legendary! Encourage guests to bring reusable containers or have some ready so everyone can take home a little extra without creating extra trash.
🍁 Decorate with Nature or Reusables Instead of single-use décor, try reusable centerpieces or natural elements like pumpkins and autumn leaves. Beautiful and sustainable!
Let’s make this Thanksgiving a celebration of gratitude—and care for the Earth. Small changes make a big difference!

As the colder months approach, vacant properties in our neighborhoods face a higher risk of crime, fires, break-ins, and other safety hazards. Unsecured buildings can threaten the safety of our entire community. The Department of Codes and Regulations urges residents and property owners to act now so we can protect our community together.
Property owners are required to keep vacant properties clean and secure to prevent emergencies and stay compliant with city codes. Taking proactive steps now helps avoid costly incidents and keeps everyone safer as temperatures drop.
If you have concerns regarding a vacant or abandoned property, or require guidance in securing your own, please contact our office at (502) 574-2508. Your help plays a vital role in maintaining safe and healthy neighborhoods throughout the winter season.
Let's join forces to freeze out fire risk and protect our community––your action matters!

Important Note: These notices are from the Office of Planning, informing neighbors about development applications being submitted in their area.

Conditional Use Permits for 7801 Delightful Way
To the Adjoining Property Owners, Neighborhood Group Representatives expressing interest in this area and Metro Councilperson for the 23rd District:
Dev Subedi of D & L Property, LLC plans to submit an application to request two Conditional Use Permits for 7801 Delightful Way, Louisville, Kentucky 40291 (the “Property”).
The Property is now vacant, but a church has operated on the Property since 2004 until the recent sale. The Property is located off Beulah Church Road on Delightful Way. Positioned near the center of the 4.23-acre lot, the building is surrounded by parking areas and green space, creating a buffer between it and the surrounding residences.
Operating under Healthy ADHC of Louisville, LLC, Dev Subedi is an established owner and operator of multiple adult daycare facilities in the Louisville community and plans to use the existing building on the Property to operate both an adult daycare facility and an event center. No new construction is proposed to the existing building at this time. To provide these necessary community services to the area within the current Residential Four (“R-4”) zone, two Conditional Use Permits are required.
We appreciate the feedback we received on our earlier zone change request. To better align with the community, we believe the Conditional Use Permits will offer a more balanced path forward.
In accordance with the procedures of Louisville Metro Planning and Design Services, we have been directed to invite you to discuss this proposal before a Formal Application can be filed. This will be an informal meeting to give you the opportunity to discuss the proposal with Dev Subedi or his representative. This meeting will be held in addition to the established public hearing procedures of the Planning Commission.
The meeting to discuss this development proposal will be held on: December 8th, 2025, at 6:00 PM 7801 Delightful Way, Louisville, Kentucky 40291
At this meeting, Mr. Subedi or his representative will explain the proposal and then discuss any questions you may have. We encourage you to attend this meeting and share your thoughts.
