I’m encouraged by the recent announcement that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is exploring ways to assist Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) with traffic enforcement and quality-of-life concerns across our community.
With LMPD still operating hundreds of officers below full strength, this kind of collaboration is exactly what we need. It means more consistent enforcement of speeding as well as illegal ATV activity, a stronger presence in our neighborhoods, and smarter use of resources across law enforcement agencies.
We’ll be meeting with the Sheriff’s Office to discuss how we can best support and strengthen this partnership. I also appreciate the increased efforts from the Kentucky State Police (KSP), who have stepped up enforcement in several key areas recently. Every layer of support helps when it comes to keeping our roads and families safe.
As your council person, I’ll continue to work closely with LMPD, JCSO, and KSP to make sure these efforts deliver real results — safer streets, greater visibility, and accountability that our residents can trust.
