D3 Updates!

cw and dr lester

Earlier this week, Councilwoman Parrish-Wright attended Dr. Terence Lester's book tour event here in Louisville. Dr. Lester's work focuses on the importance of education, and more specifically, the need for educational systems to properly care for students experiencing poverty.

Jocelyn and Chloe

The District 3 Team is thrilled to welcome Chloe! Chloe has been helping Jocelyn with our neighborhood canvassing. IN this picture, you can see Jocelyn's car is identified with the District 3 magnet, and that both Jocelyn and Chloe are identifiable by their shirt and badges. So far, they have canvassed a large portion of the Hallmark neighborhood, and plan to visit the Jacobs neighborhood next. When they stop by, be sure to say hello!

ben at olympus

Ben stopped by to visit Olympus Gaming on Rockford Plaza. This new business in District 3 is a spot for people to play video games of all kinds, and the location is equipped with consoles and computers that can run all kinds of games! Ben isn't a gamer, so he wasn't really sure of all the cool stuff he learned about, but Tom was a gracious host!

manslick fence

Some of you may recognize the fence in this photograph. For those who do not, the fence is located along Manslick Road. The residents of the Nichols Meadow neighborhood have been trying to get this fence replaced for several years now, prior to Councilwoman Parrish-Wright taking office.

As of last week, the District 3 office finally heard from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and received a permit to begin work on the fence replacement. We are thrilled about this news, and we will be planning a celebration with the neighbors.

harness reappointment

Councilwoman Parrish-Wright is happy to share that Mayor Greenberg has nominated Inspector General Ed Harness for a 2nd term. This will allow Mr. Harness to continue his good work on police reform and accountability. This photo was uploaded to Mayor Greenberg's Instagram account. The official release can be read here

shively plan

The neighborhood plan for Shively is available online at planforshively.com. The public comment period is now, so please review the plan and let the Office of Planning know your thoughts on what else you'd like to see from the plan. If you're curious about what a neighborhood plan is, please listen to our podcast with John Hawkins, from the Office of Planning, here!
