District 4 Metro Councilman Ken Herndon Announces New Community Townhall!
Thursday, October 9th
6-7:30
Republic Bank YMCA
1720 West Broadway in the Conference Room
District 4 will be hosting LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey for an open discussion as the first official installment of the D4 Community Townhall.
From this point forward, these quarterly forums are open to all District 4 constituents and will replace the D4 Advisory Board Meetings, which were only open to designated neighborhood representatives, and will feature an open conversation with local government officials.
In two previous meetings, earlier this year, we have welcomed representatives from TARC and Codes and Regulations in what were robust, informative discussions.
With incidents that has taken place in District 4 and around our city, Councilman Herndon initiated R-112-25 titled "Kids Over Guns".
In 2012, the State Legislature banned all Kentucky cities from enacting any local common-sense gun laws. Councilman Herndon’s resolution asks them to allow Jefferson County only to be able to pass common-sense laws to protect our children.
This Resolution will be apart of the Public Safety Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th at 4pm.

Councilman Ken Herndon invites residents of the California neighborhood to a special Voices & Visions community meeting focused on the future of California Park.

Councilman Herndon is encouraging the youth of the community to attend to share their VOICES and VISIONS for how the park can better serve their needs.

Ageism Awareness Day is an opportunity to draw attention to the impact of ageism in our society and work together to build age-inclusive communities.
Ageism refers to stereotypes (how we think), prejudice (how we feel), and discrimination (how we act) toward others or ourselves based on age. It negatively impacts our health and well-being, our financial security, and the economy. It impacts us at every age.
Ageism Awareness Day:
- Raise awareness about ageism’s impact and the importance of age-inclusion
- Encourage and promote member efforts to raise awareness and collaborate
- Flood the internet and media with a realistic picture of aging and tools for change
The good news is that we can do something about it together on Ageism Awareness Day Click HERE to see how you can support
