Did you know?
Over 11 million tons of textiles end up in U.S. landfills every year—that’s nearly 100 pounds per person. Fast fashion fuels this waste by producing cheap, short-lived clothing that’s often tossed after just a few wears.
Let’s change that—one swap at a time.
We’re hosting a Community Clothing Swap to promote reuse, reduce waste, and bring neighbors together for a fun, sustainable evening.
Swap, Sip & Style Thursday, October 2 5:30–7:30 PM Trellis Brewing, 827 Logan St, Louisville
Bring clothes to swap—or just come shop. All styles and sizes welcome. Unclaimed items will be donated. Enjoy Trellis Brewing’s craft beverages while you browse. Please bring a reusable bag for your finds.

Please join us Tuesday, October 21, 7:00 p.m. at United Crescent Hill Ministries building, 150 State St., 40207, as we welcome Cindi Sullivan from TreesLouisville. Cindi will discuss Louisville Metro’s Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP). Urban forests have never been more critical to cities than today, serving as one of the only city infrastructure types that lowers temperatures and home energy costs, reduces air and water pollution, and improves human health in many different ways. The UFMP is a long-term strategic plan for addressing the many challenges facing the community by best utilizing and stewarding the urban forest. Our UFMP was developed from a month’s long process of investigation and community engagement. The end result is 20 distinct Findings, with 10 Strategies and associated Actions to implement the plan. This presentation will cover the process and the findings and strategies with plenty of time for Q&A.
Cindi Sullivan, Executive Director/President of TreesLouisville, brings exceptional creative skills and experience to the organization. Her career spans more than 35 years including horticultural and agronomy research, government services, environmental consulting, media and nonprofit work. While with the City of Louisville's Operation Brightside, she coordinated the community garden program, environmental outreach for the elementary school education program, and initiated the Christmas tree recycling and composting programs. During this time, she was also President and Board member of the American Community Gardening Association. For more than 25 years, Cindi hosted both daily television and radio programs in Louisville focused on horticulture, environmental and lifestyle issues. Cindi is a graduate of the University of Kentucky's College of Agriculture where she majored in horticulture. She is an ISA certified arborist, has Tree Risk Assessment Qualifications, and is a Certified Urban Forestry Professional.
Register here to attend.
Note: This will be a hybrid meeting, that is, both in-person and virtual. Once you hit the "RSVP" button, two things will happen:
(1) You'll be taken to a Zoom meeting registration page. We hope you’ll attend in person, but if you want the option of attending virtually, then please complete the Zoom registration form (this secondary registration enhances security).

Adoptable Pet of the Week is… Great American Cookie!!
“A sweet treat of a pup who’s ready to find his family, Great American Cookie!
2yrs old, Neutered, Microchipped, Up to Date on Vaccines, Great with other dogs!
This handsome boy is a smart cookie who already knows “sit” (and shows it off proudly for treats!). He walks well on leash most of the time, enjoys exploring outside, and has the cutest way of leaning in for pets and butt scratches. While toys don’t impress him much, snacks and affection sure do. Cookie has been kenneled with another dog for a few weeks, clearly showing he is very dog social! Cookie has been easy for volunteers to leash, returns to his kennel like a gentleman, and has even shown signs of being housetrained. He’s calm, gentle with treats, and happy just to hang out with his favorite humans.
