'Coffee With Your Councilman' - Tuesday at 9 a.m.

coffee

My next 'Coffee With Your Councilman' will be Tuesday, September 23 at 9 a.m. at Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS, 9514 Featherbell Boulevard. I'll share the latest news from City Hall and answer any questions you have about our district or beyond. We'll be joined by Ozzy Gibson, Executive Director of TARC, who will discuss where things stand with the redesign of TARC's transit network and answer any related questions. I hope to see you Tuesday morning.

Please let me know if there is an organization or metro department you'd like to see represented at a future coffee meeting. I'm happy to work on that!

LFPL's New Bookmobile

bookmobile

The Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) has a new bookmobile to connect more citizens to books and other materials. This custom-designed and fully accessible mobile library will visit shelters, adults in care facilities, and other areas with limited access. Library staff also plans to visit parks, shopping centers, and other similar venues. This bookmobile was made possible through a recent budget allocation paired with a donation from the Library Foundation. For more information or to request the bookmobile at a residence home, community event, etc., click here

LD&T Review - 12707 & 12709 Old Henry Road

Old Henry

The Land Development & Transportation Committee, a committee of the Planning Commission, will hold a public hearing Thursday, September 25 at 1 p.m. to hear, among other cases, a proposal to create eight single-family residential lots and one non-residential lot at 12707 &12709 Old Henry Road. A separate but related plan, approvable at the staff level, would allow a three-story storage facility and associated parking on that non-residential lot. Both cases include requests for at least one waiver, all of which will be approved/denied by the City of Middletown. Please let me or the case manager know of any questions or comments.

Recycling Tour

recycling

Ever wonder what happens to the recyclables you take to a metro drop-off location or set by the curb for your private hauler to collect? Metro's kNOw Waste Louisville Education Team hosts tours at the local recycling facility, Smurfit Westrock, where you can see the journey most of our recyclables take. From sorting to baling, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how materials are processed and prepared for reuse. If you're interested in signing up for a tour, please do so here. The next one is October 7. Please note that this tour is available to adults only. However, the team can bring the experience to younger audiences through photos, videos, and hands-on props. If you would like a classroom or youth group presentation on this topic, click here.
