Effective Law Enforcement for All
⚜️ Mayor Craig Greenberg has announced Effective Law Enforcement for All (ELEFA) as the Independent Monitor for Community Commitment - Louisville’s Consent Decree:
- ELEFA will evaluate LMPD’s progress on reform and report to the Community Safety Commission.
- Scoring between the finalist teams was very close, and community input was the deciding factor.
- Community members can meet ELEFA at the Commission’s first meeting on Tuesday, October 14 at the Main Library.

- Festival goers came from all 50 states and over 50 countries.
- With 175 bands across 7 stages, Louder Than Life stands as the largest rock festival in the U.S., featuring Kentucky's own Knocked Loose.

The Parade of Cultures brought over 1,000 participants to kick off this year's WorldFest.
🌎 The 23rd annual WorldFest welcomed over 150,000 attendees to downtown Louisville for a four-day celebration of international cultures, communities, and traditions:
- WorldFest highlights featured local performers, nearly 150 global vendors, the Parade of Cultures, and immersive experiences like the Global Village and Children’s International Activity Zone.
- A Naturalization Ceremony at the Muhammad Ali Center honored over 100 new citizens.

Mayor Craig Greenberg joined representatives from LDG Development and Bezos Academy to cut the ribbon on the brand-new preschool in the Russell neighborhood.
🏫 Three new Bezos Academy preschools have opened in Louisville’s Fairdale, Okolona, and Russell neighborhoods, offering free, full-day, year-round education to 200 children aged 3–5 annually:
- A fourth location, Bezos Academy Riverport, is set to open in October 2026, expanding total capacity to 280 students per year.
- The initiative is a collaboration between Mayor Craig Greenberg, LDG Development, and Bezos Academy.
- Enrollment is full - families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level can join the waitlist at bezosacademy.org.

⬇️ Illegal street racing in Louisville is down nearly 40% this year, with 35 cars seized so far in 2025:
Mayor Greenberg announced Home For Good during his address to the crowd at an event hosted by Coalition for the Homeless.
🏠 Home for Good is a new collaborative initiative aiming to house 250 chronically homeless individuals in Louisville by 2027:
- Phase I includes $500,000 in city funding, a national housing consultant, and a new Landlord Liaison to expand rental options for formerly homeless residents.

The initiative is backed by nonprofits including the Coalition for the Homeless and builds on recent city efforts that added 5,000 affordable housing units through My Louisville Home.
- The Louisville Metro Office of Social Services will advance this effort through ongoing homeless engagement services.
