 Metro Council Break
Metro Council will be on summer break from June 30th until July 22nd. The District 3 office will still be available, but no committee or council meetings will take place until the week of July 21st. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. While there are no meetings until the week after next, we are still in the office and in the community!
A Few Updates
Councilwoman Parrish-Wright was in Washington, D.C. last week to tell federal representatives to protect healthcare access for millions of Americans.
The GG Moore Park Development continues on, and the Parks Alliance is working with the Metro Office for Women to determine how young girls can feel the most welcome in our Metro Parks, and the first site is GG Moore. They had an event for kids last week.
The budget has passed, so departments should now have access to 2025-2026 monies to continue existing projects and begin new projects. The budget allocated some funding to the City of Shively for the installation of their splash pad in Shively Park. District 3 also allocated funding to Metro Parks for the installation of a gate at Watterson Lake Park.
We are continuing to work on the fence along Manslick Road. We've heard back from archives, and they have stated the fence is not on the original neighborhood plan. Now, we are working with both the Department of Public Works and MSD to determine the best way to get a new fence along Manslick Road.
We have also been hearing a lot about code enforcement issues. Please continue reporting those issues to 3-1-1. For more efficiency, you can download the Metro 311 app to report concerns quickly, and immediately receive a ticket number for your concern.
