Mayor Craig Greenberg and the Office of Sustainability leading are leading a city-wide effort to cut down on single-use plastics. As part of this global movement, residents and businesses are encouraged to share reusable swaps, support sustainable practices, and learn more about plastic pollution. Throughout the month, the Office of Sustainability will offer tips, highlight local sustainability champions, and host a documentary screening of We’re All Plastic People Now at Trellis Brewing on July 24.  Open enrollment from July 7 - 18 for the 2025 Session of KRM Citizenship Classes. These free classes provide participants with the opportunity to prepare for the U.S. naturalization test in a supportive an accessible environment. Multiple in-person options are available throughout the week at various locations and times, along with a convenient online class held every Friday.

+ BIPOC Mental Health Resource Festival Returns
 On Saturday, July 19, the California Community Center will host a community-driven event dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of BIPOC residents across Jefferson County. From 12:00 to 4:00 PM, attendees can explore resources, engage with over 50 participating organizations, and enjoy a welcoming space that promotes culturally competent mental health care. With more than 350 people attending last year, this festival continues to serve as an essential platform for raising awareness, building connections, and fostering healing in the community.

 Join the Southwest Regional Library for a fun and tasty cooking demonstration on how to make delicious Vegetarian Vietnamese Rolls. Attendees will also have the chance to explore the Charlie Cart; a mobile kitchen designed for hands on learning and nutrition education.
