Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District Notice of Hearing |
The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District will hold a public hearing, via video teleconference, on an Enforceable Board Agreement with Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E). The Agreement with LG&E proposes to allocate 100 tons of annual NOx emissions reduction credit from the retirement of Mill Creek Unit 1 to be utilized by the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District as a replacement to offset any potential increase in NOx emissions in connection with the removal of the federal reformulated gas program for the Louisville, Kentucky area, which includes Jefferson County and portions of Bullitt and Oldham Counties. The Agreement is the same as that included in the removal of the reformulated gas program Noninterference Demonstration. If adopted by the Board, the District will submit the determination to the United States Environmental Protection Agency for inclusion in the Kentucky State Implementation Plan.
Verbal comments will be accepted at the public hearing via video teleconference on July 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Verbal comments will also be accepted in the Edison Room of the Edison Center at that time at 701 W. Ormsby Ave., Louisville, Kentucky 40203. Instruction on attending the video teleconference will be located on the APCD website prior to the public hearing.
Information may be obtained on the APCD website or from Lauren Robbins, (502) 574-7253, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
