The Bibelhauser Brothers combine twin brother duet harmony vocals with high energy bluegrass-country-soul sounds. On the heals of their latest release “Close Harmony”, Adam and Aaron create an experience fueled by instrumental prowess, original songs, and obscure country classics. In addition to writing songs recorded by award winning bluegrass artists including Del McCoury, Balsam Range, Michael Cleveland, & Dale Ann Bradley, Aaron Bibelhauser is an accomplished session musician on half a dozen instruments, producer and recording engineer for other regional artists, and long time host of the weekly radio broadcast “Bluegrass Evolution” on 91.9 WFPK in Kentucky. Them Lasses and Old Dogs

Them Lasses, a trio of young women whose voices blend in perfect harmony. These girls are casting their lassos and catching attention across Kentucky stages.  Kicking up the dust with old-time tunes carried on a fresh breeze and creating their own original songs, they are reinvigorating music with a style long lost and sorely missed. They are joined by the Old Dogs. Listen here!

The event is open to the public, family friendly, and free. Local vendors and food trucks will be on hand with a variety of food options. People are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show at Highview Park. Sponsored by local councilmembers.

It's a sci-fi horror double feature at Iroquois Amphitheater: Alien (1979) + Aliens (1986) on Saturday, June 21!

“Alien” follows the crew of a commercial spaceship, the Nostromo, who are awakened from cryosleep to investigate a distress signal. Upon landing on a desolate planetoid, they discover a derelict alien spaceship and a chamber containing thousands of alien eggs. When one of the eggs hatches, a deadly extraterrestrial creature emerges, and the crew must fight for survival against this terrifying and highly intelligent antagonist.

In “Aliens” Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, as she returns to the planet where she previously encountered the Alien creature. This time, Ripley is accompanied by a unit of Colonial Marines, who are sent to investigate the loss of contact with a human colony on the moon, LV-426.

     The Hollywood Classics Under the Stars Tuesday, June 24th is War Games!
     High school student David Lightman (Matthew Broderick) unwittingly hacks into a military supercomputer while searching for new video games. After starting a game of Global Thermonuclear War, Lightman leads the supercomputer to activate the nation’s nuclear arsenal in response to his simulated threat as the Soviet Union. Once the clueless hacker comes to his senses, Lightman, with help from his girlfriend (Ally Sheedy), must find a way to alert the authorities to stop the onset of World War III.

The Louisville Bats present "Metro Council Community Nights," an opportunity for all constituents of every Metro Council district, geared toward, but not exclusively for, residents who might otherwise not be able to afford to attend a Bats game. The offer is extended to both individuals and mentoring organizations, social service agencies, underprivileged kids’ groups, etc.  The two games this year are scheduled for Tuesday, August 5th and Tuesday, September 16th. CASA Volunteer Advocates Needed

CASA of the River Region seeks to improve the lives of those in our community, particularly children who have experienced abuse and neglect. They are seeking more citizens to step up and volunteer as advocates for these children. (CASA provides all the training needed. Volunteers must be 21+, able to pass background checks, and willing to complete the pre-service training course.)  

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the River Region has been serving abused and neglected children in Jefferson County for over 40 years, providing them with a highly trained volunteer advocate to be a consistent factor, a caring friend, and a voice to speak up for them during the difficult time when they are involved in family court, due to no fault of their own.

CASA will be hosting open office hours on the 1^st & 3^rd Wednesdays of each month at our main office, located at 982 Eastern Parkway (on the Kosair for Kids Campus). Nearly 200 children in our community are waiting for someone to look out for their best interests. New Address for Louisville Metro Housing Authority

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) is pleased to announce the completion of its office relocation to our new central office in the 500W Building at 320 South 5th Street, in the heart of downtown Louisville.

As part of this transition, LMHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Department (Section 8) has relocated to the new headquarters and will no longer provide services at the United Building (600 South 7th Street). 

This move reflects LMHA’s continued efforts to modernize operations, improve accessibility, and enhance service delivery for the thousands of residents and partners we serve. Nearly 150 LMHA employees now work downtown, consolidating services into one central and convenient location.  Client services are located on the first floor (entry via South 5th Street), while administrative offices occupy the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors. 

Please note our new official mailing address, effective immediately:  Louisville Metro Housing Authority  320 South 5th Street  Louisville, KY 40202.
