COMMUNITY MEETING ON TRAFFIC AT 33RD AND NORTHWESTERN PARKWAY

Councilwoman Purvis to host community meeting on traffic safety at 33rd & Northwestern Parkway

This meeting will be held on Monday, June 16, at 6:00 PM

Louisville (June 12, 2025) – Councilwoman Donna Purvis (D-5) invites residents to a public meeting to discuss proposed traffic calming measures at the intersection of 33^rd Street and Northwestern Parkway. The meeting will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, located at 3511 Rudd Avenue.

This meeting will include a presentation from the Department of Public Works on proposed safety improvements to address the rise in traffic accidents at this intersection. Community members are encouraged to attend, review the plans, and provide feedback.

“Due to the growing concerns about increased fatalities and accidents at this intersection, I’ve worked with Public Works to develop potential traffic calming solutions,” said Councilwoman Purvis. “This is your chance to review those plans and share your opinions.”

FARMERS MARKET WELCOME SNAP AND WIC RECIPIENTS

Louisville residents utilizing SNAP, WIC, or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) benefits can enhance their purchasing power at local farmers' markets through programs like Kentucky Double Dollars (KDD) and the Fresh Rx for Moms. These programs aim to make fresh, locally grown produce more accessible and affordable.

Gray Street Farmers’ Market, 400 E. Gray St., June 5-Sept. 25 Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Offers a Triple Dollar program, matching up to $20 of SNAP benefits with an additional $40, totaling $60 to spend on eligible items.
Phoenix Hill/NuLu Farmers' Market, 1007 E. Jefferson St., May 20-Oct. 28, Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m.: Participates in the KDD program, allowing SNAP users to double up to $20 for additional fruits, vegetables, and other eligible items.
