This year the Library is so egg-cited to celebrate a dozen years of interactive, high-intensity learning at the 12th annual How-To Festival!
Join us this Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Main Library, as we offer more than 50 free "how-to" sessions – from backyard blacksmithing to becoming a circus performer, making sourdough pizza crust to homebrewing cider, and so much more.
And thanks to our partners at the Louisville Urban Agriculture Coalition, the Festival will once again feature more than a dozen gardening workshops, including how to grow delicious tomatoes, start seeds at home, and raise chickens for their eggs.
The How-To Festival is absolutely free and includes a Kids' Tent, along with kid-friendly sessions. Food trucks will be on site throughout the day and free parking is available at designated Systems Parking lots.
We hope to see you there!

Online survey available now through May 29
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is seeking public feedback for the upcoming replacement of the Interstate 64 bridge over Tucker Station Road between KY 913 (Blankenbaker Parkway) and Interstate 265 in Jefferson County.
The existing structure, in service for over 60 years, will undergo a full replacement of all major structural elements. This project will enhance safety and improve operational efficiency on the I-64 bridge over Tucker Station Road. The bridge replacement project will not impact residential properties, and traffic on I-64 will continue during construction, though temporary traffic disruptions are anticipated on I-64 and Tucker Station Road.
To address potential challenges, KYTC encourages the public to share their feedback on anticipated traffic impacts and other concerns during the construction phase. An online survey, available in both English and Spanish, is open now through May 29, 2025. Before completing the survey, participants are encouraged to review detailed project information available in the StoryMap.
Input received from the survey efforts will be compiled and considered as maintenance of traffic plans are finalized. All responses will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, all supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building, 200 Metro St, Frankfort, KY 40622, or via kytc.openrecords@ky.gov.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone with a disability requiring assistance is asked to contact (502) 764-0481 no later than Monday, May 19. Additionally, in compliance with Title VI, translation services are also offered upon request.

Neighborhood meeting for a proposed 88-lot single-family subdivision on property located at 9300 Hayes Avenue
Dear Neighbor: We are writing to invite you to a meeting we have scheduled to present neighbors with our Development Potential Transfer Subdivision Plan to allow an 88-lot single-family subdivision to be located as above. After the neighborhood meeting, we will file a preliminary subdivision application for review with the Office of Planning. We will mail a Notice of Filing Letter once it has been assigned a case number and case manager.
The applicant is proposing an 88-unit R-4 Single-Family Development Potential Transfer Subdivision. Access to the site will be from the existing stubs on the north and south property lines, thereby connecting Idlewood Lane and Hines Mill Way. There will also be a connection on the east property line, directly across Hofelich Lane, for the 11 proposed lots in that area. The proposed street will also stub into the properties to the north and south. Large areas of open space are being provided, totaling 341,893 sf or 7.85 acres. The average lot size will be 7,282 sf. We would like to show and explain this plan to neighbors so that we might hear what thoughts, issues and concerns you may have.
In that regard, a meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Fern Creek Community Center and Chamber of Commerce located at 6104 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
