Save the Date

We will be hosting a series of public meetings to share the initial findings of the Comprehensive Cultural Plan. The first meeting will take place on April 22, 2025 (location and time TBD). The next phases of the plan will be draft recommendations and presentation of the final plan.

The process of developing our Comprehensive Cultural Plan is underway. This is the opportunity to shape the future of the city’s vibrant and arts and culture scene.

The comprehensive survey has closed, but to continue to gather the valuable insights and diverse perspectives, we encourage residents to share their thoughts and ideas on the passed and upcoming focus groups. We also encourage residents to add to the Cultural Asset Map. Both the map and focus group forms can be accessed at LouisvilleCreatesPlan.com.

The Arts and Culture Plan will serve as a roadmap for the city's arts and culture initiatives, guiding investments, partnerships, and programming. It will address key areas such as:

  • Accessibility: Ensuring that arts and cultural experiences are accessible to all residents, regardless of their socioeconomic status or physical abilities.
  • Equity: Promoting diversity and inclusion in the arts and culture sector, ensuring that all voices are represented.
  • Economic Impact: Supporting the growth of the local arts economy and its contribution to the city's overall prosperity.
  • Public Engagement: Fostering opportunities for public participation in arts and cultural activities.

Kentucky’s Third Congressional District's Art Competition is open to all high school students in District 3 from grades 9-12. Students should participate in the art competition taking place in the district where they reside - not where they attend school. The competition is hosted online, and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite artwork. Two winners will be selected - an overall winner and a community winner. The overall winner will receive two roundtrip tickets to Washington, D.C., to attend the national award ceremony and have their artwork displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year. The community winner will receive prizes including having their artwork displayed in the Louisville office for one year.
